Does anyone know how to change the bubble style in the "Messages" app? Right now the background color of the text messages I receive is in blue and the messages I send are in yellow.

I l upgraded from the Galaxy S5 and on that phone bubble color were reversed

I'm not sure if you can theme or change the style of the stock messaging application. However, you may want to check the message application settings and see if there are options in there to allow you to reverse or change those styles. If not, then you may need install a replacement messaging application from the Play Store.

The change bubble either left or got hidden. I had it on my note5 until the MM update last week. The s7 i bought yesterday doesn't have the option either.

Kind of odd they would get rid of this, but im happy you can at least change the background in text messages still.

Sent with my white Note5 with nonremovable back and no SDcard!

It is odd this feature appears to have been removed. I'm glad as well you can still change the background in the Messages but really wish you still could change the bubble color. I really don't want to install a 3rd party app make this possible

I would not even bother with the Samsung Messaging app. Recommend you test drive TEXTRA SMS. Textra, which is free, will make you wonder why you bothered with Samsung Messaging.

I like the stock message app, it works well and i don't have to add anything to the phone. I like the priority contacts at the top and like being able to schedule when i send a text message.

I am surprised that I like the stock app so far. I have used Textra before, but it's my understanding that with Textra or any other 3rd party messaging app, the notification's will not show up on the AOD. BTW, I thought I was going to hate AOD and was going to keep it turned off, but I really like it.

Check out Go SMS Pro. AND Go DIY SMS. THEY are in the Google play store and super awesome. You can customize everything from themes to text messagescreens, fonts, color of fonts, bubbles, to keyboards.

I hear ya in regard to AOD... but, the Samsung Messaging app is so rudimentary in comparison to Testra SMS or say Handcent SMS. No way would I stick with the Samsung app just because I like AOD. Not worth the trade off..

Install a theme from the theme store. It will skin the style of the default messaging app

Can anyone tell me if Messages+ is still available on the Verizon S7? The bubble colors and shapes are customizable.

I loved everything about the Verizon Message+ app on my S5, but now on my S7 Edge the only volume setting is loud. Can't be changed from what I've read. The Notifications volume setting doesn't work for me.

Yes, same here. I would also like to change this setting since I'm used to being the blue bubble. Original galaxy was and the 3 and 5 were also as well. As far as I know they all were lol

I don't know how to change it but I have noticed a pattern. If someone sends several messages at once or within a small amount of time, the last of such messages will be blue, so you don't miss the last message sent to you. The same is true when you send messages this way, but the last one you send will be yellow.

The colors of the stock messaging app is affected by the chosen theme for the phone.

You can use your own background in messaging. Go to setting. Go to Applications. Go to Messaging.....Then Backgrounds....It will automatically take you to Gallery. Make your choice..Apply.. Save...Voila!!!!!!

Actually! All you have to do is go to your settings and change from Standard Mode to Easy Mode. Then you can customize your texting bubbles, screen colors, etc. Your icons will be bigger but you will now have 5 screens instead of 2 for those

Being able to change the background in every screen would be nice. Having a white background and getting a text in the middle of the night can be painful, even with the auto-brightness on.

I was using Textra, but decided to try the stock app for a while to evaluate the better integration with my gear s2 and gear s3.
